Books that open the door to real conversation.

The Mothership Book Club is our cozy corner of the galaxy for women who want to read good books, have honest conversations, and feel a little more connected, to themselves and each other.

Each month we choose a book that gets us talking about motherhood, identity, adventure, resilience, family, culture, and becoming who we are next. Read every page, skim during bedtime chaos, or just show up for the conversation. Weird is welcome, and so are half-finished books.

Parenting Culture Perspective Shift

Part parenting book, part cultural travelogue, this one looks at what modern parents can learn from families around the world. It's a thoughtful, perspective-shifting read for anyone trying to raise capable, connected kids without losing their entire mind in the process.

The Mothership's literary voyages.

The Mothership Book Club is captained by Monica Ticknor, founder of Charter Book Club Adventures — a harbor where books become launching points for connection, reflection, and adventure.

A mother of five, teacher, coach, and lifelong lover of literature, Monica believes stories have the power to transform how we understand ourselves, each other, and the world around us. Through immersive virtual voyages and epic in-person adventures, she creates space for women to step away from the roles and rhythms of everyday life and reconnect with themselves.

Here at the Mothership, Monica runs the weekly Wednesday meetings, keeps the chat alive, and has been doing an outrageously good job of getting actual authors onto Zoom calls with us during the month. Very rad.

"My mission is to help women navigate life with greater intention, joy, and purpose — one book at a time."
